• The Cambridgeshire Care Card Trial is a pioneering pilot programme designed to explore the potential of the humble bus pass to become a powerful, multi-function personal data bank.

All bus pass holders in Cambridgeshire are invited to join the trial.

  • The Cambridgeshire Care Card project is a two-year pilot scheme, designed to develop and test Care Card systems, before rolling out the National Care Card to the rest of the UK.

  • Bus Pass holders can upgrade their cards, by adding to them any or all of a series of optional data fields and applications that allow their cards to be used for new purposes to be selected during the trial. Those that appear to be of the most value will be incorporated in the national version in two years' time.
